Week 1 Rankings

1: Grant

What you think of Cole Kmet will determine where you ultimately land on your overall opinion of this team. The Committee happens to see him as a potential top 6 TE which then leaves this as a team with no holes. Chubb and Kamara are likely the best RB duo in the league. There is a minor concern over a potential Kamara suspension but it seems like he’s in the clear. Tee Higgins and Diontae Johnson are rock solid receiver and snagging a supposedly healthy Michael Thomas in the 5th gives them someone else with WR1 potential. If you wanted to pick nits you could look at Jalen but his fantasy production has proven to be much more impactful than his performance on the field would necessarily indicate

2: Badge

The story with this team starts at the RB position. They invested heavily at the position with their first two picks and they landed two guys that are the clear head cows of their teams, a role that doesn’t exist much in the modern NFL. At TE they scooped up Mark Andrews in the third who would have qualified as the fourth highest scorer at receiver last year. Even if he regresses somewhat (which The Committee anticipates ) a 50 point drop would have still had him as a top 10 receiver last year. This strategy left them with a receiver room lacking a true superstar unless someone breaks out but what this receiver room does have is four guys with a very strong chance to finish in the WR2 range. After finishing last year as the 3rd highest scoring QB Tom Brady should again provide quality production as the Captain of this team.

3: Ry Guy

This is a team that could have major variance in where they finish based on the performance of a couple key individuals but there are enough good players here that at worst they should be a top 6 team. Tyreek Hill should continue to thrive in Miami with an increase in short yardage run after the catch opportunities and Brandin Cooks is perenially underrated despite doing nothing but put up numbers. Getting last years RB1 should provide this group with a strong presence and if the young RBs can break out in the way that their talent suggests they should this team could be special. If Jalen Hurts improves as a passer Dallas Goedert has top 3 TE potential and Joe Burrow should provide good returns given he’s throwing to maybe the best group of skill position players in the NFL

4: Mitch

This team is absolutely rock solid across the board but The Committee thinks there are some questions about the overall ceiling. CeeDee Lamb should explode this year as the head cow in Dallas and Herbert will be a monster as usual. Joe Mixon should be a definite RB1 but his ceiling may be capped due to just how many weapons the Bengals have. Zeke should be able to provide consistent production even if he isn’t his old self anymore, and if he goes down this team has Tony Pollard waiting in the wings to step up. Eli Mitchell and Allen Lazard are major swing players for this team. If Elit Mitchell can stay healthy he could be an RB1 and Lazard has a big opportunity with the available targets in Green Bay left by Adams. This team has an absolutely massive hole at tight end but if there’s one position to be weak at that’s not a bad one

5: Joe

This team was a little trickier to rank because with Deandre Hopkins suspended for the first half of the season The Committee didn’t factor him into these rankings. With him in the lineup at the end of the year this team has the potential to be the best in the league. As it stands right now this team should still be very solid although they’re relying on a lot of players with checkered injury histories. If they can stay healthy its very possible CMC and Kittle finish the season as the top dog at their position. Dobbins is someone that The Committee sees as a major breakout candidate with RB1 potential. Adam Thielen however is very concerning, he’s 33 years old and has a ton of trouble staying on the field. If James Conner stays healthy he could be a top 5 RB and Derek Carr should be a steadying presence on this team.

6: Cody

When looking at this team I think you have to start with their WR duo. This should definitely be the top WR duo in the league which makes sense since this manager took two WR’s with his first two picks. Taking Josh Allen could also give them the top QB in the league. However, what that left them with was a whole lot of blah at the RB position. Cam Akers was a popular breakout pick last year before tearing his Achilles and when he came back at the end of the year he didn’t look great. Maybe he just rushed back but the Achilles tear is a notoriously finicky injury. Josh Jacobs didn’t have his fifth year option picked up, does that mean he’s going to be run into the ground or will the staff move away from him completely? Antonio Gibson seems to be on the verge of losing his job on the Redskins as well. Dalton Schutlz should be able to provide consistent, solid production

7: Luke

This is a team that has a really high floor but The Committee has some questions about their ceiling. Keenan Allen is an absolutely rock solid player but he’s turning 30 and could this be the year Mike Williams ascends to the number 1 receiver role in LA? Similarly Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin are both talented players but they’re probably the number two option at their position on their own teams. Stafford should continue to return solid value unless his elbow issue proves problematic. Zach Ertz should be fine, Kyler seemed to like him last year but most of his production came last year when Hopkins was out and Hollywood was in Baltimore. Ultimately this team will go as far as its RBs will take them. Henry will be his usual self and if Javonte Williams is able to wrestle away the lions share of touches from Melvin Gordon then this team could explode

8: Miller

Before getting into this team The Committee would like to formally congratulate Mr. Miller on his induction into the prestigious club that is the Fraternity of Champions. As for the team Trey Lance is a real wild card on this roster. At the very least he should perform similarly to Jalen Hurts last season where his fantasy play outweighs his play in real life. Jamarr Chase and Courtland Sutton are a rock solid WR duo and The Committee believes Sutton is in line for a big year. D’Andre Swift should anchor the RB unit but this team really needs Rhamondre Stevenson to take over the lions share of the Pats backfield or else things could get dicey as there isn’t anyone on this team behind him. Kyle Pitts had an underwhelming year last year and is downgrading at QB but his talent should allow him to improve. A big question will be if Gabriel Davis is for real or if his value got vastly overinflated because of one dominant performances against the Chiefs in the playoffs last year

9: Rock

This team elected to load up at the Receiver position with three different guys that The Committee could see finishing as WR1’s. Not to mention Hollywood Brown who could be in line for a big year after reuniting with his college QB. If Lamar can return to his old self this ranking could look very bad by midseason. The issue with going so WR heavy is that it came at the expense of the RB and TE position. Pat Friermuth is an awesome real life football player but with the amount of weapons the steelers have on offense how many targets is he really going to get? Chase Edmonds is in a three man committee and while he’s had individual games where he has popped off he’s never really been able to string together a consistent run of success

10: Bowz

Assuming both of these RBs stay healthy this would be up there for the best RB duo in the league, however its been two seasons since we saw Saquon Barkley perform at an elite level. When you add AJ Dillon into the mix that’s a strong stable of RB’s. While The Committee thinks Michael Pittman has massive breakout potential this year (which really he did last year), DK Metcalfs stock is dropping like Kamaru Usman after a Leon Edwards head kick. Kyler is great when he is 100% but there are definite concerns about his ability to hold up. Dawson Knox is so so at TE

11: Yode

As is tradition this manager elected to start off with three pass catchers going WR-TE-WR in the first three rounds. There’s a strong possibility this team ends the season with the WR1 and the TE1 but ultimately the success of this team will be determined by how the RBs perform. We know what David Montgomery is, a very solid if unspectacular runner. Interestingly Rashad Penny performed at an RB1 level the final 6 weeks of last season but that offense will look much different this year. Dameon Pierce could end up leading the backfield in Houston and become a really important piece of this squad

12: Horse

This team elected to make sure they got one elite player at each major position before circling back to find their RB2 and WR2. As third year players that have been decent in their careers thus far but have yet to truly break out its a big year for both Jerry Jeudy and Clyde-Edwards Helaire. Their play this year will go a long way in determining their career path as well as the success of this team this season. Dak and TJ “The Hawk” Hockenson could become interesting trade chips as the season progresses
